Details About Our Work Methods

We’ll let you know all the details of our proposed work,

even the tough things that need to be done.

Lawn Maintenance

We use professional commercial equipment for higher quality, dependability, and efficiency.

We mulch cut and then blow out any excess grass clippings on the lawn for a cleaner look.

We smooth out uneven mower cuts around dips, holes, etc. with a grass trimmer.

We don’t cut grass in the rain or on soggy lawns so as to avoid lawn damage.

We make wider than average mower turns to avoid pivoting tire damage to lawns.

We carefully keep very neat grass edges using a grass trimmer, NOT just racing down the line.

We spray or trim away weeds/grass in cracks each lawn servicing.

We pick up trash and do NOT mow it into a mess. Grass cutting height can be customized.

We watch out for sprinkler heads stuck in the up position and will replace if damaged.

We double cut if needed to eliminate hard-to-get grass stalks or lines.

We keep from trimming/blowing grass clippings/leaves into fish ponds.

We broom-sweep out mower-pressed-grass from sidewalks and driveways.

We air-sweep sidewalks, driveways, patios. Garages too, if customer has door open.

Leaves & Pine Straw

We mulch light or residue leaves into the lawn after bagging.

We sweep leaves off bed edging grasses and, if contracted, also off beds.

We do not blow leaves from lawn into beds.

We take some leaves from beds, bag with lawn leaves,

then we may, blow the very little remains under bushes or into wood lines.

We’ll reach under the bushes for those built up and matted leaves, if contracted.

We’ll air sweep & tarp leaves to lot corners/wood lines or shrubs to save you money, if contracted.

Bush Trimming, Pruning, Fertilizing

We remove trimmings off the ground and from bush tops by hand and rake.

We do not cut shrub blooms.

We cut the lower portions of the shrubs at the ground for a neater look.

We use light weight, electric trimmers for more accurate bush trimming.

We prune old growth branches, then trim shrubs for a proper look and future growth.

We can properly & safely fertilize your shrubs and plants for you, though results are not guaranteed.

Trees/Branches/Stumps

We clean up leaves, pine straw, branches, and grindings thoroughly for a very neat look.

We remove limbs before felling the tree and repair any damaged sod.

For regular lawn maintenance customers, hurricane clean-up will be an additional charged.

Branches from three or more trees may require a $200 container charge for hauling off.

Lawn Fertilizing, Aeration, Re-Seeding

We can properly & safely fertilize or re-seed your lawn for you, though results are not guaranteed.

We aerate lawns with a plug removal aerator, not compression pins.

Weeding/Spraying Beds

We get almost (95%) all of the weeds from bush/flower beds by pulling/spraying each visit.

We hand pull weeds from the base to get as much of the roots as possible.

We remove scrap sticks, pine cones, and trash from beds.

Landscape Design & Installation

The long term health of plants and shrubs can be observed at our older installations.

We condition over-sized plant holes or entire beds with topsoil & peat moss for healthy, long-term growth.

We do NOT just ‘plug in’ the plants into small tight holes of clay.

We will work with you to exactly position plants, if desired.

We install weed block fabric by overlapping and staking the fabric edges secure.

We install the proper 3 inches of mulch, NOT just ‘top dress’ the shrub beds.

After installing pine straw, we pick off the excess from the shrubs and plants for a neat look.

We pick out any sticks or leaves from pine straw installations.

We add weed control, fertilizer, & water and can provide hose sprinklers & timers on loan.

Customer is responsible for watering, fertilizing plants regularly thereafter.

Outdoor Lighting

Our lighting systems use 100% waterproof grease tubes & caps to make wire connections.

This will ensure long term reliability. We don’t use the short-cut snap together wire connectors.

For hidden lights, we normally use plastic fixtures to prevent future corrosion.

We can purchase almost any type of metal fixture desired for a better fixture appearance.

We can bury the wiring underground or undermulch, as contracted.

Drainage Systems

We remove clay from above the piping and replace with sand for best drainage.

We ensure that all connections remain tight while backfilling trenches.

We replace sod neatly over the new trench lines.

Retaining Walls, Patios & Walkways

We ensure that all retaining wall bricks have unbroken locking edges for a stronger wall.

We use rebar and wood screws to firmly anchor landscape timber & railroad tie walls.

Our retaining walls are very level and arranged for attractive interest and beauty.

We guarantee no erosion through or under our walls.

Sod Installation

We take time to tuck sod pieces tight and even staple pieces on steep hills.

No guarantee against fungus after installation. Applying fungicide can be contracted.

Customer is responsible for proper watering and preventing damage due to weeds and insects.

Deep tilling, if used, will leave the ground lumpy until the lawn settles over a few years.

Damage due to hurricanes & tropical storms is the responsibility of the customer.

Privacy Fencing

We can install different patterns of wood, such as lattice and double siding.

We can paint or stain, arrange straight, zig-zagged or staggered.

Ponds & Fountains

We can install decorative arrangements to enhance your landscape.

Installations can be simple and inexpensive, or elaborate and moderately priced.

Sprinkler Systems

We use heavier schedule-40 piping and NOT the weaker schedule 200 “thin-wall.”

We use professional grade spray heads, valves, and timers; NOT the cheaper retail brands.

We refill and pack piping trenches thoroughly (2 or 3 times if needed) for future appearance.

We place stone, then foam cushions under sprinkler heads to prevent heads from sinking

and to protect against vehicle damage.

We can lay locator wire in the main trench for future use, if desired.

We visit your home once again to adjust sprinkler heads or timers if needed.

We thoroughly prime, glue, ¼ turn, and hold all connections to guarantee no-leak piping.

We set the valve box on stone to prevent a mower from pressing box down onto and cracking pipes.

We seal up piping holes into valve boxes to keep dirt out and protect valves.

We use proper angled fittings for corners and do not bend or stress pipe to fit.

We use sealed spray heads, NOT open/capped, to prevent dirt & debris from inhibiting long term operation.

We will provide a sketch of the sprinkler system, if requested.
